Badaun: A sensational case has come to light in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, where a half-cut jackal was found in the trunk of a forest department inspector’s car. A cut jackal was found in the trunk of the car of forest department inspector Vijay Singh, parked in the forest department office premises in Sahaswan. When animal lover Sanjeev somehow came to know that the forest department personnel had hunted a banned animal and brought it in their car, animal lover Sanjeev reached the spot with his team where he informed the police about the matter.
The body of a jackal with its head and legs cut off was found in a plastic bag in the forest department’s parked car inside the Sahaswan range forest office premises. The animal lovers who arrived with the police recorded the forest inspector’s act on their mobile. The animal lovers have filed a complaint with the police accusing the forest inspector of smuggling the carcass of a banned animal. The ranger started an investigation into the matter against the forest inspector. A panel of three veterinarians conducted the post-mortem of the jackal’s body. The forensic team also reached the spot and collected evidence.
When the trunk of the car of forest inspector Vijay Singh was opened in the presence of the police, the half-cut body of a jackal was found in a sack. However, forest inspector Vijay Singh has denied the allegations and called it a conspiracy. He has cited that the keys of the car are with another person. He also said that someone has conspired to trap him and has placed this dead jackal in the trunk of the car at some time in the night. Animal lover Sanjeev and his team have demanded to register an FIR against the forest inspector. The police is busy investigating the entire matter.
Allegations and counter-allegations
Sahswan forest ranger Ashok Kumar Tyagi says about the entire incident that last night someone placed the body of a jackal in the forest inspector’s car and went away. Whereas we do not know anything. In the morning when animal lover Sanjeev and others came, they woke us up and told us to open the car. When the car was opened, a jackal’s carcass was found in it. All this is being done as part of a conspiracy to trap us. Whereas how did the animal lover know that there is a jackal in the car’s trunk.
Now the whole matter seems suspicious to me that the animal lover has a jackal inside the car. Why did he not tell us the name of the person who informed him. On the other hand, animal lover Sanjeev alleged that we got information that the forest department’s inspector Vijay Singh here supplies meat of forest animals. Like tantriks and common people who have the habit of eating meat.
Animal lover Sanjeev says that strict action should be taken against whoever has done this. When the protectors themselves become predators, then who will take action? He told that even before this, there was a case of a deer here. But the forest department shrugs off the responsibility. Last night someone left a slaughtered jackal in his car and he did not even get a clue while the keys to the car and the residence of the forest inspector are right next to it. Well, whatever is true will come out after investigation but the recovery of the jackal’s dead body in the forest department inspector’s car is a serious matter.
Jackal Animal lover Sanjeev Kumar
Animal lover Sanjeev Kumar told the police in his report that he got information at around 12 o’clock on Saturday night that forest department inspector Vijay Singh had hunted a prohibited animal and taken it to the range office in a white car. On Sunday early morning he along with his team reached outside the forest department’s range office with Vikendra Sharma, Avinash Sharma, Ram Gopal, Shyam Sharma, Kishore Sharma and Budhpal. He called PRV 112 and Kotwali police there.
Ranger Sahaswan Ashok Kumar Tyagi said that it seems a conspiracy has been hatched to trap the forest inspector. Veterinarians from Sahaswan, Ujhani and Dahgawan have been called to conduct the post-mortem of the dead body. Based on this, investigation will be done and action will be taken.
